Hi, I'm Terry Timmermans, founder of Color Analysis Studio. I was someone who simply loved color, style, and the way a great outfit could light someone up from the inside out.

This is the story of how that passion turned into a mission: helping everyday people discover the power of color and how it can elevate confidence, simplify their wardrobe, and bring their personal style into focus.

Where It All Started: The Shopping Trips That Shaped Me

Growing up, I would go shopping with my mom. We’d often browse the same racks, yet she always picked pieces that made her glow. She instinctively knew what worked and I watched, amazed, learning something I wouldn’t fully understand until later.

Those trips left an impression. I learned that what we wear isn't just fabric... it’s how we show up in the world.

I’ve always loved style. My mom, a brilliant seamstress, could turn newspapers into patterns and create perfect-fitting clothing. She let me choose the fabrics and colors, teaching me from an early age that style was about self-expression. My friends borrowed my clothes for special occasions, and I was always the one people turned to for fashion advice. It came naturally. I didn’t realize it then, but it was my quiet superpower.

But there was a season when I lost that spark. I stopped seeing myself as someone who deserved to feel radiant. I wore clothes that helped me fade into the background because deep down, I didn’t believe I was worth being seen. My closet reflected my mindset: muted, uncertain, and disconnected from joy.

At the time, I didn’t recognize how much my self-worth had eroded. I just knew I didn’t feel like me anymore. I assumed style and confidence were for other women... women who had it all together. So I stayed quiet, even though something inside me was craving more.

My marriage, now 30 years strong, had its own challenges early on, and my self-esteem was part of the healing process. Several years ago, I attended a personal development retreat that introduced me to the concept of limiting beliefs. That experience opened a door. I went on to attend two more retreats and began working with a mentor.

The question that changed everything. One day, my mentor asked me: What would you do to help people, even if you never got paid for it? My answer came easily: I’d help women feel confident and radiant again.

That clarity led me to explore color analysis more seriously. I had my own colors done, and during the session, the stylist held different swatches beside my face. “Do you see it?” she asked. At first, I wasn’t sure, but after a few comparisons, something inside me lit up. “Yes! I see it! I see it!” It felt like someone turned the lights on. For the first time in a long time, I saw myself clearly and beautifully. That moment sparked something powerful. I decided to become a certified color consultant soon after and knew I was stepping into alignment.

I never doubted my ability to do the work, but showing up online was a whole other story. As an introvert, being visible felt intimidating. Sharing my face, my thoughts, and my passion publicly was uncomfortable. But I reminded myself that this wasn’t about being loud; it was about being real. And I kept going.

There are still days where showing up is a stretch... when old doubts try to creep in. But every time I guide a woman back to herself through color, I feel a deep sense of purpose. That’s what keeps me grounded and growing.

Now I’m expanding Color Analysis Studio with new ways to support women in building wardrobes that reflect who they are, not through strict rules or capsule limits, but by choosing pieces that feel aligned, joyful, and truly theirs. It’s not about how many clothes you own. It’s about owning the right ones. I’m creating a space where style feels intentional, expressive, and confidence-building every step of the way.

I’m no longer the woman who hides behind neutral tones or plays small. I’ve become someone who shows up with intention, owns her story, and leads others with quiet strength. I’m introverted but bold. Low-key fierce. Softly confident.

Through Color Analysis Studio, I help women rediscover their radiance using the power of color. Together, we edit closets, build confidence, and create wardrobes that reflect who they really are. This isn’t just about looking good. It’s about finally feeling seen.
